LongHorn Steakhouse Golf Classic Hits a Hole-In-One for Children's

One of Atlanta's long-standing charity golf tournaments, the LongHorn Steakhouse Golf Classic, teed off for the 22nd time Oct. 8 in
what proved to be a milestone year for the
annual event.

The Classic raised an impressive $300,000
for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, a record-breaking year and $50,000 increase from the previous year.

Taking place at the prestigious Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, 268 golfers participated in the tournament, which included much more than a challenging day on the course. Participants enjoyed food donated by LongHorn Steakhouse, an awards banquet with PGA tour pro Billy Andrade serving as the guest speaker and live performances by Capitol Records Nashville recording artists Luke Bryan and Ashley Ray.

"The LongHorn Steakhouse Golf Classic has always been a terrific event, but this year's tournament, with the community support from sponsors such as AirTran Airways, Coca Cola Co. and Tyson Foods Inc., the food and great music, once again exceeded our expectations," said Scott Hodoval, vice president of the Children's Foundation. "$300,000 will go a long way toward helping us continue our mission to care for the community's children."

Funds raised from the event will go toward the Children's ChildCare Fund, which serves to provide financial support to families who are without the means to pay for their care.
